This is a late post I realize but better late then never they say. I can finally sit down and re-live my Sartorialist experience:
It all started with me taking the Monday off work to mentally prepare myself (yes, I need a whole day to do this) one must plan logistically when line-ups, big heavy camera's and books are involved.. I wanted to look somewhat interesting, probably men's wear inspired because that's just me, but still feminine and hopefully nonchalantly understated all at the same time! Anyway, after much deliberation switching from skirt to slacks about a trillion times, an outfit was finally picked, pressed and prepped. I do this to myself too often, hoping that a skirt can outdo a pair of ol' faithful pants on a cold day. Result: I didn't want to be walking on cobblestone in 4 inch heels which the contending skirt required for a complete look, sooo pants it was along with a caramel colored wool blazer, maroon polka-dot sweater layered with a crisp white shirt & collar pin. Not too shabby I don't think, and well, it was me and I was comfortable. *If you're into the below look, it can be easily done with a broach of your choice.

Back to the experience: Yes, there was a line up but I was 3rd in line so I was pretty safe. What can I say except Scott was a complete gentlemen, spending as much time as he could with each person, signing each and every book and print while posing for a picture or two. I'm not going to lie, I was completely star struck before and after the meeting. We talked about Garance as he signed my book and even gave a short narration of each photo he took of her; where they were and what kind of mood she was in. It was absolutely delightful and of course, almost surreal that these two people that I admire so much from afar are indeed, the sophisticated and lovely people that they are on their blogs. I speak as if
Garance Doré herself was present and although not the case, I think Scott could really tell I was smitten over them!! My hope is that one day I'll be walking down Bleeker Street or strolling down Rue Saint-Honoré and there they'll be, or ya' know just her, and I'll have my book handy where I can open it up and she can sign on the same page as the Sartorialist.
Anyhow, enjoy the photos and as always, happy blogging.
